Description: The Edris Morrison Studio is a relatively modest, two-story International Style commercial building in downtown Portland designed by Pietro Belluschi. Although easy to overlook, the building is distinguished by its low scale and glass-enclosed front courtyard containing ornamental plantings, which set it apart from the denser urban fabric located along much of the Broadway corridor. The building housed the Edris Morrison Studios, operated by a notable female portrait photographer in Portland. At one time, examples of the studio’s photographs were displayed on the glass wall along the public sidewalk. The elegant gooseneck light fixtures along the top of the wall are still in place.
